Some Final Tips for Catching Bass
Choose Your Lure Based on the Season and Water Temperature
When fishing in early spring and fall, you'll find Bass will attack top water lures such as poppers and floating propeller types. Bass also are likely to strike surface lures in shallow water, such as along shorelines under overhanging trees.
As the temperature rises the Bass move to cooler, deeper holes, and you will need to fish lower. Change to something that dredges the bottom. A plastic worm is ideal for this, and you'll find that even the most sluggish Bass will strike when you drag the worm slowly past its nose.
Fishing a Tidal River
Fish a tidal river for bass on the falling tide, by casting crank baits near the mouths of tiny feeder streams. As the water drops, Bass will be waiting there for crayfish, crabs and minnows to be washed out from the streams.
Now Go Catch Some Fish!
Being a successful bass fisher means more than chosing the right lure. Water quality and weather conditions are as important as the lure you're using. Now you know that the using the right lure, the right way, at the right time, and at the right place can help you catch a price bass!
